Designing custom door handles requires more than choosing a shape and finish. A successful design must also match the door structure, Lock system, material, installation method, expected traffic level, production process, and destination-market standards. These details should be confirmed before tooling and sampling.

Start With Door And Lock Compatibility

The first design question is how the handle will fit the door.

Important dimensions include door thickness, spindle size, handle-to-keyhole center distance, rose or backplate size, and Lockcase compatibility.
